Do you suffer from chronic pain?

Did you know that massage therapy is a highly effective therapy offering long-term benefits?

How Massage Therapy can help

Massage therapy is becoming more widely accepted in the medical community as a credible treatment for many types of back pain. Research shows that massage therapy has several potential health benefits for back pain sufferers including:

  • Increased blood flow and circulation, which brings needed nutrition to the tissues. This aids in recovery of muscle soreness from physical activity or soft tissue injury.

  • Decreased tension in the muscle. Muscle relaxation can improve flexibility, reduce pain caused by tight muscles and even improve sleep

  • Increased endorphin levels (the feel good chemicals in the brain). This mood enhancer can ease depression and anxiety, which can help reduce pain and speed recovery particularly in those suffering chronic pain.

Some back pain related conditions massage therapy aids the recovery of include:

  • Muscle strain, Sprain or Spasm

  • Osteoarthritis

  • Fibromyalgia

  • Degeneration of the Discs/Spine

  • Nerve Pain

  • Sciatica

  • Bulged/Herniated Discs

  • General Pain and Tension

Bowen Therapy can assist with back pain in many circumstances as the technique aims to address the core of the problem. This gentle technique will address the body as a whole while also targeting a specific area of concern.

  • Bowen therapy will release muscular tension, stress and inflammation around muscles that help support the skeletal framework of the spine.
  • By reducing stress and tension the body can begin to change internally restoring balance and alignment therefore providing a reduction in the discomfort felt within the muscles of the back.
  • When applied within recommended time frames, the therapy can have long lasting effects.

Hi!  I am Emma, your Bowen therapist and I will explain and co-ordinate a plan of treatment specific to your individual needs. This plan may involve an initial 3 appointments  spaced between 5-10 days apart. Depending on your condition and how well you respond, I may or may not need to incorporate a maintenance program afterwards.

Your body is an amazing structure and all things can take time. With the right triggers the body is very capable of changing and repairing to provide balance and well being.
