My name is Kate Buckle. I grew up and reside in the Lockyer Valley where I share a passion for horses, outdoor activities and camping.

I first discovered an interest in massage when I myself needed treatment after a horse riding accident left me seeking alternatives to surgery. I found great relief through massage and many other alternative therapies that to this day not only keep me healthy and pain free but inspire me professionally to help others in need.

After finishing Grade 12, I went straight onto study a Diploma of Remedial Massage at the Australian College of Integrated Therapies on the Gold Coast in 2005. I have now been a Remedial Massage Therapist for 11 years and gone onto study numerous smaller modalities including, Hot Stone Massage, Infant Massage and Sports Therapy.

I love my job and find it very rewarding to see patients progress through the stages and get back to optimal health and wellbeing.

What is Remedial Massage?

Massage is the manual manipulation of soft tissue and includes holding, causing movement, and/or applying pressure to the muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia. It is applied to patients experiencing subacute and chronic pain, stress and anxiety, and in the prevention, rehabilitation and maintenance of health conditions.

Benefits of massage include but not limited to:

  • Alleviate pain and improve range of motion

  • Assist with shorter, easier labour of expectant mothers

  • Enhance immunity by stimulating lymph flow - the body’s natural defense system

  • Exercise and stretch weak, tight or atrophied muscles

  • Help athletes of any level prepare for, and recover from, strenuous workouts

  • Improve the condition of the body’s largest organ – skin

  • Increase joint flexibility

  • Lessen depression and anxiety

  • Promote tissue regeneration, reducing scar tissue

  • Pump oxygen and nutrients into tissues and vital organs, improving circulation

  • Reduce post-surgery adhesions and swelling

  • Reduce spasms and cramping

  • Relax and soften injured, tired and overused muscles

  • Relieve migraine pain and headaches

I am available by appointment every Tuesday at Healing Hands Natural Health Centre.
